Committees

All NASD Committee Meetings are open to the public and held at the Administration Building (401 N. Whitehall Road). Meetings are advertised and agendas are made public at least 24 hours prior to the start of each meeting. Visit NASD's BoardDocs for more information.

Policy Committee

The Policy Committee is responsible for the maintenance of the district’s Policy Manual.  The policies and procedures adopted by the Board establish the general parameters within which the daily operations of the school district are to be governed. The Committee regularly reviews policies, revises policies, and/or develops new policies to ensure an appropriate framework of governance is maintained.  The Committee will also review, revise, and develop policies when required by legislative or legal changes.  The Committee provides guidance on the development of Administrative Regulations and district procedures to the administration to ensure that policies are appropriately implemented and supported.

The Policy Committee meets the 2nd Monday of each month at 5:00 pm.

Education and Technology Committee

The Education and Technology Committee discusses all matters related to the educational and instructional program of the district.  This includes educational programming, courses of study, course offerings, curriculum, instruction, teaching, learning, instructional materials, instructional resources, and the integration of technology.  The Committee regularly reviews local and state data to ensure the effectiveness of current programs.  The Committee provides guidance to the administration on the curriculum development cycle to ensure teaching and learning is effective and relevant, and that appropriate resources are allocated to implement programming with fidelity.

The Education and Technology Committee meets the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 5:00 pm.

Pupil Services Committee

The Pupil Services Committee discusses all matters related to the support services available to students and families in the district.  This includes services provided through the Family Support Center at Roosevelt Campus, such as support with registration and enrollment, residency, families experiencing homelessness and housing instability, regular school attendance, special education and specialized programming, and family and community engagement.   The Committee provides guidance to the administration on procedures and strategies to increase family and community connectedness to the district. Additionally, information regarding resources and events to support students is shared and discussed.

The Pupil Services Committee meets the 2nd Monday of each month at 6:30 pm.

Facilities and Finance Committee

The Facilities and Finance Committee discusses all matters related to the business and financial services and the operations and facilities services of the district.  This includes discussion and planning regarding the annual budget, revenues and expenditures, tax related matters, debt management, food services, district operations, maintenance services, custodial services, facilities, safety and security, and transportation.   The Committee regularly reviews local and state data to ensure the upkeep of district facilities and the financial stability of the District. The Committee provides guidance to the administration on procedures and strategies to ensure the financial and operational services best support the implementation of the educational program.

The Facilities and Finance Committee meets the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 6:00 pm.
